Search for the correct aspect ratio on the Aspect ratio widget and select the correct entry. If you can't find the correct entry, you need to add it first (Structure → Taxonomy → Aspect ratio → Create term).

The aspect ratio is the width of an image compared to its height.

A movie or TV show most likely uses a aspect ratio standard format. If you want to add an aspect ratio, that is outside of one of those standards, it's good to double check if the aspect ratio is correct. It's unadvised to simply calculate the aspect ratio yourself—if possible, we rely on an official source. Maybe a movie as a different aspect ratio in its theatrical and blu-ray release. If different versions of a movie or TV show have different aspect ratio, we add the original version to the OFDb.

The width and the height are written as two numbers separated by a colon (:), while the width is always before the colon, and the height after. If a number is less than 1, we write a dot (.) and not a comma (,), i.e 1.85:1.
