The genre field contains the genre(s) of the movie and TV show. It can contain multiple values. Start typing in the field, and chose the appropriate genre from the suggestions. Click the “Add another item” button under the field to add another genre.

Put the most relevant genres first, in descending order (the least relevant genres last).

The OFDb currently allows you to select the following genres:

• Action
• Adventure
• Comedy
• Documentary
• Drama
• Fantasy
• Horror
• Music
• Mystery
• Reality
• Romance
• Science Fiction
• Sitcom
• Thriller
• War

The list was built upon DVD Netflix's list, while all genres considered as a “theme”/“interest” were not taken over, and some genres were added that appeared to be somewhat necessary while contributing to OFDb. For example, “Foreign” is simply a categorisation of “non-US production” rather than an actual movie genre, while it makes sense to have a “Music” genre as there are live performance available and broadcasted, where documentary isn't the right choice.

It is not possible to add new genres to the list, as it might lead to an excessive list of genres, consisting of niche genres, sub-genres, and so on. In addition, the OFDb currently doesn't accept adult films.
