The photo field contains a link to a photo of the person on Wikimedia Commons. Don't link to a file hosted on Wikipedia itself, but only to a Common's file.

Always add a photo in portrait format. If there are only square or landscape format photos available, or no portrait format photo is available in acceptable quality, it is OK to add photos in a different format.

In addition, it is very important to add a photo with a license that grants commercial use (i.e. CC-BY).
