The photo field contains a link to a photo of the person on Wikimedia Commons. Don't link to a file hosted on Wikipedia itself, but only to a Common's file.

Always add a photo in landscape format. If there are only portrait format photos available, or no landscape format photo is available in acceptable quality, it is OK to add photos in a different format.

In addition, it is very important to add a photo with a license that grants commercial use (i.e. CC-BY).
